Senior Engineer (m/f/d) Simulation
As a Senior Engineer (m/f/d) Simulation, you’ll be part of a small UK team with the mission to support global Toyota with our in-house simulator technology.
You will contribute to the continued development of this technology for a broad range of Motorsport and Automotive applications and be required to take ownership of feature developments and customer deliverables. This will involve algorithm and model development to keep Toyota at the leading edge of innovation and drive forward the virtualisation of vehicle development. You’ll also have close contact with the customer/ end-user, allowing you to be part of the full development cycle - from requirements and concept development through to delivery of your work. This will include occasional travel to other Toyota facilities around the world for support and delivery.
As part of the UK team, you’ll also work closely with various TGR-E groups in our head office in Cologne, supporting a common development process and technologies. You will have the opportunity to mentor younger team members, whilst still learning from subject matter experts within the business.

The successful candidate will have:
-
relevant Industry experience of mathematical modelling and simulation
-
minimum a Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline with modules/ projects relating to a number of the following topics, e.g. Mathematical (White Box) Modelling, Black Box Modelling (e.g. Machine Learning), Simulation, Optimisation, Control Theory, Robotics/ Mechatronics or Vehicle Dynamics

the ability to demonstrate basic engineering principles confidently and apply these to varying scenarios/ problems

previous experience working with real-time hardware-in-loop simulation systems (ideally including the creation, build and execution of models)

previous experience in motion cueing algorithm development, optimisation and tuning

proficient knowledge in more than one mathematical programming language – e.g. MATLAB/Simulink, Python, C++

previous experience working across multiple operating systems (e.g. Linux)

experience in team based development best practices including Agile methodologies

previous experience with Driving Simulators and Model Based Design

the appreciation and understanding of source control and continuous integration tools in a development pipeline
