We are currently seeking a Production Engineer Composite (m/f/d) to join our high performance motorsport and automotive environment in Cologne. In this role you will focus on the development, optimization and industrialization of composite production processes. Working closely with design and quality teams, you will ensure that innovative manufacturing technologies are successfully implemented while maintaining the highest standards of productivity, quality and efficiency.

Your tasks

 

  • develop, optimize, and standardize composite manufacturing processes (lay‑up, curing, trimming, bonding, assembly)
  • create and update work instructions and technical production documentation
  • Optimization and integration of jigs, fixtures, and support tooling into existing manufacturing processes
  • monitor production KPIs and drive improvement initiatives in quality, lead time, and cost
  • initiate root‑cause analyses and implement corrective and preventive actions together with design, quality- and workshop teams
  • act as a hands‑on problem solver on the shop floor and coordinate production‑related projects

 

The successful candidate will

 

  • hold a degree in Mechanical, Materials or Automotive Engineering or a comparable technical discipline
  • possess solid knowledge of composite manufacturing technologies and quality‑relevant methods
  • have experience with CAD tools (e.g., CATIA V5), ideally including composite‑design modules
  • understand composite production requirements in motorsport or other high‑performance industries
  • work reliably and solution‑oriented in cross‑functional teams with clear communication skills
  • show an analytical, structured and proactive working style with strong focus on process stability and manufacturability
