Customer Support Engineer (m/f/d)

We are looking for a Customer Support Engineer (m/f/d) for your GT cars to oversee the Customer Motorsport projects with daily tasks based out of our Cologne headquarters.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated customer support engineer, to join TOYOTA RACING in Cologne and trackside, at international race events.

Your tasks:

  • Provide on-site technical support at race events and test sessions, assisting our customer teams with race cars operation, including but not limited to: regulation compliance, maintenance procedures, car vitals monitoring, performance analysis and troubleshooting
  • Work alongside our support team to deliver prompt and effective solutions to customer requests
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the sporting authorities, ensuring smooth communication and compliance
  • Act as a liaison between customer teams and internal engineering departments in Cologne, sharing feedback and addressing technical concerns
  • Prepare detailed engineering reports from track activities and contribute insights to customer support and engineering teams
  • Respond to technical inquiries and resolve issues timely and professionally, in line with TGR-E processes
  • Evaluate and propose relevant technical developments targeting performance / reliability / serviceability / cost reduction
  • Extensive travel to European and/or international events will be required

 

The successful candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to confidently and knowledgeably engage as a customer-facing representative of the company
  • Hands-on experience with GT racing programs, ideally GT3, including participation in race and test events
  • Solid understanding of race car architecture, encompassing both electrical and mechanical systems
  • Proven track record in data analysis, including proficiency with motorsport data analysis tools such as Magneti Marelli Wintax/ Sysma, Bosch Windarab, Racecon, PiToolbox, or Atlas
  • Customer-focused mindset with excellent interpersonal skills to foster collaborative relationships
  • Results-oriented approach, prioritizing customer satisfaction and timely delivery
  • A flexible approach to working hours and tasks is essential
  • A high willingness to travel
