(Senior) Engineer (m/f/d) Composite Design

We are currently seeking for a Senior Engineer or Engineer (m/f/d) Composite Design. Depending on experience and profile, the candidate will take responsibility for design projects and undertake the concept scheming and designing of composite components or assemblies, ensuring on-time delivery within agreed cost limits. Your role also includes generating detailed specifications of various composite components as well as associated component testing. Working closely as part of our design team, you will be responsible for producing designs, associated patterns and moulds, lay-up information and drawings. All relevant documentation has to be in English. Be part of our research and development and works motorsport team in Cologne, Germany.

Your tasks:

  • undertake the concept scheming and designing of composite components or assemblies
  • ensuring on-time delivery of designs and projects within agreed cost limits
  • generating detailed specifications of various composite components as well as associated component testing
  • responsible for producing designs, associated patterns and moulds, lay-up information and drawings
  • providing full documentation in English
  • supporting the production areas to follow up on the parts under your responsibility and act where issues occur

 

The successful candidate will:

  • have a degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering or equivalent
  • display sound knowledge and hands-on experience of carbon composite design technologies and laminate definition, including structural components and crash structures
  • show high level knowledge and relevant experience in motorsport parts layout and the design of high performance components in the area of e.g. F1, WEC, GT3/GT4
  • have relevant experience in tool design and manufacturing for Composite parts
  • be proficient with CATIA V5: solids, surfaces & drafting, FEM and the classical calculation methods within CATIA. Knowledge of the Composite Module in CATIA is an advantage
